Following an organisational meeting chaired by District Governor Roland Bigg of Canowindra, the club was chartered under Rotary International on 20 November
1968 with 22 original or charter members.
Oberon forms the eastern border of Rotary District 9700, which consists of 43 clubs and extends to Hay in the southwest. Other locations include Parkes, Forbes, Lake Cargelligo, Wagga, Coolamon, Griffith, Grenfell, Orange, Boorowa, Young and Cowra. The four Bathurst clubs and Blayney are our closest neighbours in the worldwide Rotary family of 1.2 million men and women.
The Rotary Club of Oberon spends about 70% of its funds in the local community. Projects range from assistance to families with a special need to local environmental projects. Over the years it has rewarded local businesses
for excellence and individuals for outstanding community service. Young people are sponsored to participate in the various personal development and leadership courses under Rotary’s banner.
Catering at car rallies, farm clearing sales and other events provides a large part of the Club’s income, together with firewood and other raffles and other activities intended to keep the club visible in the local community. The Club also recognises its affiliation with Rotary International through contributions to the Rotary Foundation, which funds major projects such as PolioPlus,
dedicated to the world-wide eradication of poliomyelitis over the 20 years, which is now almost achieved.

Digital Divide Rotarians is formed to offer all like-minded Rotarians around the world the opportunity of service and fellowship in the interest of making an effort to bridge the digital divide that exists between various communities and nations around the world.
"Through our scientific and technological genius, we have made this world a neighborhood and yet we have not had the ethical commitment to make it a brotherhood. But somehow, and in some way, we have got to do this," said Dr. Martin Luther King.
Let's make this world a brotherhood by bridging the Digital Divide through Rotary.

The birth of the Rotary Club of Waling-Waling Davao was a breakthrough in Rotary International District 3860 where membership was purely male until 1991. The Rotary Club of East Davao, with then Extension Committee Chairman (now Past District Governor) Reynaldo I. Reyes, paved the way for civic-minded women of Davao to become Rotarians. After two organizational meetings in September 1991, thirty one professional and business leaders were inducted and swore commitment to Rotary ideals. On 20 January 1992, Rotary International approved and accepted the club as its member. RCWWD lunch meets every Thursday at the Grand Men Seng Hotel, Davao City.

We just celebrated our 21st anniversary. We are a small club but we have big ideas. Our current project is working with Equine Theropy for mentally and physically challenged children. It is a great program that teaches children confedence, balance and many time brings them out of their shells. Our current project is to raise $8000 to build them a new ring. We encourage other Rotaries to seek out such programs in their area...for it is very rewarding. If you are or would like to do so, let us know.
