The club charter was granted February 1, 1914, making it the 97th club in the world of Rotary International. From the beginning, the club has grown in membership and purpose. Thirty-four members attended the initial meeting; today its membership directory includes approximately 500. The Rotary Club of Sacramento is among the 20 largest clubs in the world.
