Tragedy in our RGHF Family,

A very sad note from RGHF webmaster Don Murphy, followed by a request for help from our members:-----------------

Our friend Don Kemplen, the Rotarian who developed the animated version of Paul Harris 1933 speech [found on the RGHF ROTI, and Digaria websites], had a fire in his home Tuesday afternoon. His six year old daughter Leila died in the blaze.

His 15 year old daughter Jessica, 12 year old daughter Savanah, and 7 year old son Alex got out safely.

He brought his family to the home of Modesto Rotarian Ron Ehrke, with whom he works, with only the clothes on their backs. Everything else was destroyed in the fire. District 5220 Rotarians are responding to the family’s needs. Please keep our Rotarian friend in your thoughts as his family deals with this tragedy.

Thanks to all who have replied, and to those whose hearts went out to the family of this innocent little girl. This young Rotarian and his family have been crushed, both emotionally and financially. What is most needed is unquestionably your prayers and goodwill.
