In light of the recent events that have been going on in the world natural disasters), such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes etc., and especially after the huge disaster Tsunami, that struck many Asian nations, and caused the death of thousands, and the injury and losses to millions more, our club has thought of an effective idea, on how to aid the victims and ease their pains.

In short, what many can do, one cannot do alone. So, we're suggesting to establish a unified international Rotaract Emergency Fund Box. Through this project, a fund box will be made in each participating club, every meeting, each member in each club will donate a very small sum of money to this box. so,in case of any emergency, the money in this box will be grouped with all the boxes of all the clubs around the world, totalling of a huge sum of money, which will be, no doubt more helpful and useful, than a mere individual contribution...

Our aim as rotaractors, is to contribute to world peace, and help others in need, please join us in this rescue mission project, and make a difference!

That's a real intelligent idea! Our club collect Happy Funds and Sunshine fund in several happy occassions of members. We aim to save the collection for a worthy cause that can bring sunshine in a person in need..Guess, we can start up this project creating a rapid disaster fund. Although our collection is very small upto Rs. 200 per meeting, we could start it together.. Let's work on logistics and rules such as minimum collection per annum and the process of realease of such funds... We'll need to trust each others bringing common consent of commitment so that it is immediately forwarded to needy, whatever the collection. We can update the collection of Rotaract Emergency Fund Box monthly... WOW! This could act like a Rotaract Matching Grant for Rapid Disaster Management!! I'm in for this concept.

Very noble! Who else is behind this idea? How can other Rotary folks best help the cause with personal involvement?
