Notes from the last meeting:

The coat of arms used is used by right, being the arms of Lord Teviot, himself an acknowledged genealogical expert. Lady Teviot was born in Sussex and educated at Avondale College, Hove. In 1965 Lady Teviot married the Honourable Charles John Kerr, who three years later succeeded his father as Baron Teviot in the House of Lords, his main interests were Transport and Archives. Lord and Lady Teviot have two children Charles and Catherine. Lady Teviot has been involved with Family History Research for over thirty years she also specialises in Probate Research. Lady Teviot has lectured and fulfilled media engagements in Australia (including Good Morning Australia) South Africa, Canada, USA and New Zealand and will be speaking in Australia in Victoria, South Australia and Darwin in the Northern Territory. In recent years Lady Teviot has been invited to and really enjoyed speaking at Rotary Clubs in Australia. Her company, Census Searches, has been chosen by Flame Television Production Ltd to take part in the second series of the very popular programme 'The Heir Hunters' on BBC 1. The cameras have just finished filming for this hugely successful documentary for viewing in June/July 2008. This follows the very popular series on SBS recently called "Who Do You Think You Are". It is hoped that it will be shown in Australia sometime in the future. Lady Teviot has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Family History Societies including International Liaison Officer, from 1995 until April 2001, when her term came to an end. In April 2001, she became and still is the President of the Federation of Family History Societies. Other appointments include a member of the Executive Committee of the Sussex Family History Group and the Council of British Records Association from 1998 - 2000. Her husband, Lord Teviot, is a Fellow of the Society of Genealogists and President of the Association of Genealogists and Record Agents.
