As the number of attendees was so high this year it did put us to the test! At times we asked our selfes "is it possible to arrange this?" Those times where for instance when we where trying to find transportation for all of them on their first day here in Åre. We live in a small town with about 2500 inhabitants (counting the town next us as well) and there's just one Bus Company here and they had no free buses this day... UNfortenately, we did never get hold of a bus so the students got to know the hotel really well on day one. They swam and rented their skiing equipment on that first day. The following days was running a whole lot smoother with Ski School and other events. On tuesday evening they got to go to a cottage by a lake using Snow Mobiles. At the cottage there's these fire wood heated tubs - outside! Also, there's a hole in the ice of the lake... Yes, you suspected it and you're right! They sit in the very warm tub and then you climb out of the warmth and into the really cold water (about 4 Centigrades or 39 Fahrenheit)!

I think what impressed them the most was that I, the President of the local Rotary Club not only joined them on their last night, but also I was the DJ that played music that they liked. Maybe I should reveal that I was a Club DJ for 8 years during the late 80's and mid 90's and I'm still young at heart and listen to a wide range of music - including modern music that the students likes. :D
