Not all of our Club Members are able to regularly attend meetings, due to work commitments abroad etc., and our quarterly club newsletter helps keep them in touch with club events and maintain their interest.

We are also finding that it is a useful promotional tool. By distributing our newsletter to our associated Inner Wheel Club, neighbouring Rotary Clubs and posting a copy in our local Library we are raising the profile of our club in our community. We also provide an email subscription service, to anybody that is interested, via our club website (see below).

I strongly urge any club that does not already have a newsletter to invest the time into producing one, aimed at non-Rotarians as well as club members. It can be fun to produce and is a useful promotional tool.

For those interested in the Rotary Club of Faversham newsletter it can be found on our Club Website in PDF format at:

David, this is a wonderful website and your newsletters are remarkable. I'm going to pass this link to one of our co-founders, PDG Eddie Blender www.ourfoundation.info to give him additional ideas. I've also just posted an article about GE's retired chairman Jack Welsh and his thoughts on "recognition." So, your "60 Second Interview with..." is now going to become part of www.rotaryhistoryfellowship.org with proper credit to your club.

Great looking newsletter! I opened the PDF file, and was pleased to see all the information in it..and I especially like how you mention to gear it towards both Rotarians and NON Rotarians alike, that is very useful.

David - this is VERY true - we've been amazed at how many Clubs have not yet made use of basic internet resources to help spread their word! In today's world, spreading a word around the room is just not enough to reach out - people cannot always attend meetings and geography limits us as well. Today, we're even encouraging clubs to actually take a few photos, even a short video or two and post them as part of a weblog article -- just so that people can see, and learn from clubs that are worlds apart! Plus, having a central store of archives means that Rotarians can make use of information for years to come!
