By electing Obama,Americans have made a history as a truly free Nation Wednesday, November 5, 2008, 09:38 AM GMT [Current Affairs]

The election results of November 4,2008, have proved that Americans have lived up to the tradition of a truly free nation and paid a resounding tribute to the principles of the Founding Fathers, by electing Obama, by an overwhelming majority of electoral college vote,338/158. However this is not a victory of a race or religion, even a political party but depictive and reflective of American choice of a leader, Obama, with a set of requisite positive traits to meet the challenges of 21st Century not only for the good of Americans but also humanity at large.Obama's first speech after announcement of his victory is entirely reflective of this objective reality. I've been promoting this theme for the last one year through my blogs /comments in all the leading papers of USA/UK. Now let's hope and pray for the best in these tumultuous times 0 (0 Ratings) Tags: Add More submit | cancel [ 7 comments ] Add a Comment: Preview Some HTML is allowed.     In one swoop the Americans have removed all the ammo for the US bashers... the will have to find a new "racist imperialistic power" to blame... chances are Putin will be the new target..

You do know Obama won right?

The next few years a time for hard men and hard choices, not speeches and tax payer largesse.

Popular vote 61,148,244 54,564,713 Percentage 52% 47%

Hardly an overwhelming majority, and currently, Obama received fewer votes than Bush did in 2004. DominicJ November 05, 2008 10:35 AM GMT Delete Comment

Dominic J,A 5% plus in popular vote is large enough, add to this overwhelming electoral college majority.Bush was a product of Machiavellian tactics of Rove ,so leave him beside. You read,"A tragic legacy" by Glenn Greenwald M Saleem Chaudhry November 05, 2008 10:50 AM GMT Delete Comment

He has a very tough job but I agree with you. I hope Martin Luther King is looking down on the U.S.A. with joy. christa November 05, 2008 11:21 AM GMT Delete Comment
