After nearly twenty years of meetings held at the Sizzler Restaurant on Rimpau Avenue, the Circle City Rotary Club has moved to a new venue – Backwoods BBQ and Steakhouse. Backwoods BBQ and Steakhouse, owned by mayor pro tem, and Circle City Rotary member, Steve Nolan, opened for business in September in the McKinley center. The Club was its first customer and met in a temporary location, on the dining patio for several weeks while renovations were completed. Club members, who had considered and passed on opportunities to move meetings to other locations in the past, felt this venue was the right choice at the right time. “It’s important to emphasize,” stated Circle City Rotary Club President, Jason Kimes, “that the move to Backwoods is in no way a poor reflection on the Sizzler. The Sizzler and their staff served us well for many years.” The move was prompted by two major considerations; it would show the Club’s support for Steve Nolan, one of its long-term members and, a fresh venue would allow the Club’s growing number of new members to join long-term members in writing a new chapter in the Club’s history in a location they chose together. Circle City Rotary was chartered in 1989 and meets Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at Backwoods BBQ and Steakhouse. They welcome guests. Anyone interested in membership should contact Jason Kimes, President at (951) 966 7461. |
