Some pictures from the meeting. Thank you much for all the Rotarians who helped make the event a huge success! And a special thanks to Bob Hayes from Creative Projections for providing some tunes! Complete slide show can be viewed here: Heading toward the Rotary meeting, members were met by old classics. Rock & Roll oldies, classic and collector cars, fellow members..... The Towe Auto Museum was packed with car aficionados and those who will be, as soon as they are big enough to get into a go-kart. Greeted at the parking lot by super sound emanating from Geof Lambert's vehicle, members and sons went into the museum to grab an Ettore's lunch and drink before being seated in an amphitheatre style arrangement. Pres. for the day Sean O'Brien inserted dry humor throughout the program, ably assisted by Kevin Yee, Nicolas Crumley, Tyler Nelson and Cooper Murphy. Sgt. at Arms Kevin Yee ably handled the mic to discover the son from the furthest distance (Carolyn Carr's grandson from Denver), the oldest son (P.P. Dan Cole), the youngest son (Doni Blumenstock's grandson) and the family with the most generations present - the Coles. We were treated to a DVD of our youngest speaker in a winning race. We learned about the thrills, costs and dangers of racing. There was an added sense of excitement surrounding the topic of racing and enhanced by Vic's ice cream for all. It was a "casual, comfortable and fun" meeting, quipped Clayton Lee. Another member responded to the program given by racing drivers with "thank God my kid is not on the track." An apropriate response to a 14 year old talking of driving at speeds over a hundred miles an hour! Kudo's were heard being given to Rotarian of the Day Karen McClaflin on the obvious improvements at the museum. Chair of the Day Bill Keegan was given a round of applause as members and guests alike expressed their appreciation for such a fun meeting. - STF |
