As a heavy downpour of rain blankets the city this afternoon, a torrent of grief is felt among the Rotarians in Cebu and in district 3860 for the untimely death of AGR Roy Damole, past president of the Rotary Club of Cebu Mid-City and a current member of the Rotary Club of Cebu Mabolo. About 10 p.m. Tuesday September 19, Roy was shot dead by presumed hold-up men as he was changing his car's flat tire at the reclamation area of the city. Details are still sketchy as investigators are finalizing their reports and suspects are still being identified. This comes as a personal shock for I've known Roy in the many years since I've been a Rotarian. He is a good-natured and jolly fellow,a stickler to the Four Way test. A good friend and an admired professional, he has contributed immensely to the community. We pray for justice for this crime. Our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Shirley and his kids for their irreplaceable loss. - IPP Allan RC Banilad Metro |
