Ghana: Rotary Club Reaches Out to Pupils
As part of its activities to provide services to the communities, the Accra-South Branch of the Rotary Club, has organised its Annual Career Guidance Programme for the pupils of 5 garrison schools in Accra. 964 pupils drawn from the 11 junior high schools were taken through how to select various courses to pursue in senior high school. Professionals in the club were paraded to throw more light on courses they studied in the universities. Rotarian Cecil Gabrah entreated the pupils to take their studies seriously and desist from watching TV programmes which were not beneficial. He said it was the duty of the club to reach out to the less-endowed schools and assist them in decision-making. He said, learning was the key to success and that nobody should belittle themselves but everyone must go all out to study so as to crown all their efforts with success. The President of the Accra-South Branch of the club, Mr. Larry Jaigge, noted that as part of their four-way policy, everything that one did must be beneficial to all.
