Polioplus started off as a Community Service which soon spread world-wide and came to be listed as part of International Service. That it can be wonderful Club Service too was shown by the Rotarians of Zone III, RI District 3240, West Bengal, India, in their fantastic Centennial Polioplus Rally organized on 3rd October, 2004. More than 200 Rotarians from six Rotary Clubs actively participated in the Rally, along with one Inner Wheel Club, four Lions Clubs and more than 50 local clubs. There were about 100 cars, 90-odd motor-bikes, 20 cyclists and 8 tableoux. Enthusiasm among local population was great, more so to watch the performing folk-artists. The Rallies started off from 5 points at distances of 60-70 km apart and converged to the meeting place, Malda, after covering about 400 km in all, within 15 mins of each other - and this was no mean feat, given the conditions of some of the village roads. The commitment and active participation of Rotarians of all six Rotary Clubs of this Zone along with the Families of Rotary and the number of Joint Weekly Meetings of the clubs with the slogan, "Let's do it together", during the preparatory phase, showed that it was indeed Club Service at its best
