Touring Refilwe in Cullinan, South Africa
The debate whether school uniforms are less or more expensive and less or more valid in today's free society can be discussed for hours without end. However, in the disadvantaged areas and especially where HIV AIDS took away the primary source of income in a household, the students are finding it more and more difficult to afford school uniforms.

John Rogers, Frank Sosta and Bob Von Buelow from the Rotary Club of Vero Beach Sunrise (America) came out to S.A. for a visit with the view to invest funds in HIV AIDS projects. We went by foot through two informal settlement areas in Refilwe, Cullinan (where the largest diamond was found!). We were surrounded by poverty, hunger, poor health, poor living conditions, AIDS orphans and so the list goes on.

We visited the local Secondary School and received lists upon leaving the school grounds requesting funds for uniforms for disadvantaged students. Ou American friends whipped up R15,000 to cover expenses for about 30 students. The R15,000 was stretched to its limits. We requested cash discounts and ended up distributing no less than 57 school uniforms to the students of the Chipa Tabane Secondary School in Refilwe, Cullinan.

Now that's what I call SUPERB TEAM WORK ACROSS THE MILES!!
