I have no hesitation in writing that the digital awareness in Rotary in India is low. Very few clubs have their own web sites, very few Clubs communicate through e mails. If some clubs are doing it, its only because of some indivisual Rotarians, who are doing it over years.

In Dist. 3170, which comprises a part of Maharashtra, Karnataka & full of Goa, we have a mailing list about Rotary, but out of 4500 members, only 150 approximately have subscribed to it.

I am sure that except the western countries & some advanced Asian countries, the same would be the case.

Should not some thing done to bridge this gap?

Yes, Its a combination of all the points raised by you. But I think that one important point you have missed - lack of interest to gain knowledge. A combination of all these points make things difficult. I think that the change should start from the top. The leadership should start using digital media more & persuade members to do it. Then the change would be faster, quicker & will reach to the bottom.

Very good observation. What could we do to change that? Is it language barriers? Technology barrier? Lack of understanding how to use technology?
