FACT SHEET ON PAKISTAN’S

BAGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS

The massive earthquake in South Asia October 8 killed almost 40,000 men, women and children, and left more than 3 million people homeless in Pakistan alone.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mahmood are hosting a fundraising event on November 5 to raise money to rebuild the Bagh School for Girls. The earthquake caused the school to collapse, killing over 300 girls and 35 teachers. Funds from the event will go to The Citizens Foundation, USA (TCF) which will rebuild the school. Bagh, located in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, is one of the hardest-hit areas in the earthquake zone.

The Honorary Committee of the gala includes Susan Allen and Ambassador and Mrs. Jehangir Karamat of Pakistan.

The hope is to raise money to build a new school to create hope and opportunity for the surviving young girls whose lives were shattered by the devastating earthquake, and a future for those yet to be born. This effort will contribute positively to the image of America. Your donation to this critically important cause will make a difference and contribute to global stability by helping to rebuild Pakistan.

The Citizens Foundation, USA is a registered not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization in the United States. TCF works solely to provide quality education to the less-privileged children of Pakistan, building schools in far- flung rural areas and urban slums. It will ensure that all funds raised go directly to the cause of building this critically needed school. Since the October 8 earthquake, TCF has been doing tremendously effective work in the earthquake zone.
