I would like to institute into the culture and by-laws of Rotary International a new thing called the ROTARY 2 MINUTE RULE.

Simply stated it means that at every one of the 31,000 Rotary meetings around the world, and at every Rotary event and project 2 minutes of video clips are taken and posted somewhere (anywhere) on the Internet.

Really this is quite a simple and FREE thing to do...

Here is an example of something very basic I'd like to see from every club meeting around the world every week:

Click to Open Web Page

These could go anywhere...a club website, YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook, Digaria, PhotoBucket, Picasa, ROTI, Rotary.org anywhere!

I think the value of this rule being in effect would be immeasurable. And if there is a location of a club that doesn't have Internet access, well then I think we as Rotarians around the world should fix that easily solvable problem, so that can't be any excuse to not implement the rule.

Would you like to join me in taking up this cause, and helping educate the Rotary world how easy and FUN this would be to do? What are your thoughts?

Great idea and I'll be putting it into effect as soon as I can. Might throw photos up for blah/regular meetings, but video will start appearing for all our bigger/brighter functions. No, scratch that, I'm sure I can find 2 min of footage from even the lowliest meetings...

Great idea Geof. It would provide a tremendous visibility value for Rotary as a whole. Video is a flaming hot trend on the internet today and I believe it could create a positive buzz around Rotarian activity. One Rotarian might be a little powerless alone, but Rotarians united are pretty powerful. Magnus G.
